FELT CHRISTMAS TREES

11.18.2016

These Felt Christmas Trees are the cutest complement to my Paper Christmas Trees.
(Check out the Paper Trees post to learn how to make them and for some of my thoughts on Holiday decorating :).)
The Paper Trees will play a bigger role in presenting your main color palette or unique patterns, but these Felt Trees add a soft, comforting, and charming element to your decorations. I usually pick a neutral color to let the texture stand out.

Here’s how to do it:

ITEMS NEEDED

4”x9” Styrofoam cones   $3.99 each
9”x12” Felt rectangles (2 sheets per tree)   $0.33 each sheet
Small pins (dressmaker pins)   $2.99 for a box
Scissors   $2-$6

TOTAL PRICE

$12-20, depending on how many you make

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut each sheet of felt into 6 equal-width strips (~1.5” thick).

2. Cut as many circles as you can out of each strip.

3. Pin felt circles to styrofoam cones starting from the bottom and around the perimeter of the cone. Overlap ever so slightly with each circle.

4. Continue onto the next row and work your way to the top!

...does Hachi think it's pretty or does he want to destroy it?

Voila!
