I want to be the older woman who glows. I want to be the mom who gets back in shape. (The healthy way.) Sometimes I want to be cute. Sometimes I want to be elegant. Sometimes I want Basil (my husband) to take a second look. I want to feel timeless. I’m 31 and I still get carded, and even though getting mistaken for a 16 year old sounds embarrassing to some people, I want to keep getting carded until I’m 51. I want arms like Michonne from The Walking Dead.

Don’t we all have dreams like that? You might not want the same things as me, but when it comes to your beauty, you do have goals. I truly believe that we can reach any of our beauty & health goals safely. That’s my thing. And that’s what this section of the blog is going to be about.

The way I see it… the Beauty & Health Industries are pretty messed up. Most companies do whatever they can to give you temporary beauty, ignoring the long-term affects that their products have on your health. It’s cheaper to manufacture that way, and it keeps you coming back more often. I’m talking about everything from the foods we eat to the creams we spread on our skin. It all gets inside your body. We have to take care of our skin and our bodies.

Beauty blossoms from health, but without health, beauty is temporary.

I wasn’t always healthy. I was overweight and insecure. I know what it’s like to feel like complete poo. No energy, yo yo weight, unmotivated. But I’ve also experienced feeling confident, healthy, and rested, and I can’t imagine allowing myself to go back.
And guess what? I’m the only one who can make that choice. Not the beauty industry, not ads on tv, not my man or my friends, just me. You are in control of this.

I’ve found things that work, and I want to share them with you. Because sharing is caring.

In Something Good for Your Body, I’ll share health tips, product favs, makeup tutorials, stuff like that. My hope is that I’ll get you thinking about a different way to reach your beauty goals and to help you be more conscious of what you put in your body and on your skin. Because as you become more aware of how it all affects your wellbeing, your life will get better. I promise. It happened to me.

I hope you find Something Good in each section of this blog.
My goal is to help you be more creative in every season and in all kinds of ways.
